More Apartments Slated for Midtown

SAN DIEGO-Denver developer wants to build 150-unit luxury project in Bankers Hill area.

Simpson Housing LP hopes to build the studio, one- and two-bedroomapartments, along with a small commercial center, at the corner of FifthStreet and Laurel Avenue.

Park Laurel, a 94-unit apartment complex, was proposed for the area a fewmonths ago. The projects are the latest in a slew of new apartment andcondo communities sparked by declining vacancies and skyrocketing rentsthroughout San Diego County.
