The apartments would have two and three bedrooms per unit. The for-sale houses would be in the $100,000 to $120,000 price range. Pinnacle has said it would consider Section 8 housing subsidy tenants for the apartments and might seek funding for the project through the Broward County Finance Authority.
Getting new high-density residential projects approved in South Florida has become more difficult in recent years because of spreading controlled-growth sentiments. Yet local planners have initially reacted positively to this proposal because of the location and its moderate-income tenant focus.
