According to a report by the Houston Association of Realtors, 5,391 existing homes were sold in August, a 1.3% decline from August 1999. Year-to-date through August 2000, 38,160 existing homes have been sold, compared to 37,996 sales in the comparable 1999 period. The HAR report included sales of residential properties sold in Houston and surrounding communities through the MLS operated in conjunction with the Houston Association of Realtors.
