The development, on a parcel located west of 238th Drive between Halsey Street and the Union Pacific Railroad north of City Hall, is part of a $65 million expansion by Merix, which is based in Forest Grove. The facility is scheduled to be finished in June.
Merix manufactures advanced multilayer circuit boards for use in electronic equipment. Top customers include Motorola, Lucent, Teradyne and Credence corporations. Wood Village's proximity to Portland International Airport and Interstate 84and the labor pool in the area were factors in Merix's selection process.
Merix is joining the likes of Fujitsu and LSI Logic, who have set up shop in east Multnomah County for similar reasons.
