Symantec Planning Move, Expansion of Local Facilities

EUGENE, OR-The successful high-tech company is looking to relocate its offices from converted retail space in the city's struggling Downtown pedestrian mall.

The company is currently located in converted retail buildings. In addition to leasing real office space, the Cupertino, CA-based company is said to be considering several sites for possible new development, including a privately owned surface parking lot north of its existing offices, or south of existing offices where a vacant Sears building now sits on city-owned property.

Employing some 500 people, Symantec's worldwide customer service center is a major Downtown employer.
