The center, scheduled to be open in 2001, will have a 130,000-sfHome Depot, a 175,000-sf Target SuperCenter and a 12,000-sf stripcenter. The project is located on Texas 146 near Kemah.

Property Commerce has a total of 22 active retail projectstotaling more than 3.5 million sf. either recently completed orunder construction in south Texas. The firm typically developscenters anchored by Home Depot, Target, Wal-Mart or a grocerystore.

With strong home building in the Houston area, the addition ofnew rooftops has left large parts of the suburbs in need of moreretail space. In addition to the seven new projects in Houston,Property Commerce is also developing projects in Brownsville,Harlingen, McAllen, Weslaco, Killeen, San Marcos, Lake Jackson andother Texas cities. Property Commerce, founded in 1976, hasdeveloped more than 6 million sf of commercial space and more than3,600 apartment units.
