A 5.87-acre parcel near the southeast corner of Val Vista and Elliot roads has been purchased for $1.2 million by 24-Hour Fitness of Phoenix, which plans to build a health club facility there.
Details are pending, but construction is expected to begin within the next six months.
Gilbert has been one of the fastest growing suburbs of metropolitan Phoenix during the past five years. The official population topped 100,000 last year.
The parcel was sold by Brookstone Ventures LLC of Phoenix. The Phoenix office of CB Richard Ellis negotiated the sale for both buyer and seller.
