BIRMINGHAM, MI-Downtown is expanding to the tune of about $200 million with five multi-million dollar mixed-use projects among the 15 developments underway. They are all part of a plan approved by the Birmingham City Council in 1996, says Patricia McCullough, community development director for the city.

McCullough notes that the developments include a $100-million retail and entertainment complex by Palladium Co., a division of the Related Retail Corp. of New York, J.M. Olson Co.’s $8-million, three-story office/retail building, a $20-million, six-story mixed-use building by John Development Corp., The Willits, a $70-million condominium/retail project that will be completed in 2002 by Robertson Bros. and Co. of Bloomfield Hills and a five-story condominium/retail project by Tri-Mount Estate Homes Inc.
