In his new job, he will be responsible for the eastern US for the Denver-based Destination Hotels & Resorts, which managers 22 independent, luxury hotels and resorts nationwide.
Before joining DH&R, George has served as president and COO for Hudson Hotels Corp., based in Rochester, NY. In the past two years, he is credited with having bolstered the chain's hotels from 29 to 61. He also previously had worked as COO for the Los Angeles-based Sunstone Hotel Investors, which became one of Marriott International's largest franchisees.
Also coming aboard is hired Rodger MacDonald as vice president of strategic sales. He will advise sales teams on selling processes and strategies. Most recently, MacDonald had directed the South America marketing and sales efforts for Fort Lauderdale, FL-based Choice Atlantica Hotels (Barrington International). He had coordinated the implementation of three regional sales and reservation offices in Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo and Santiago.
