Cable & Wireless Backfills Sallie Mae Space

RESTON, VA-Cable & Wireless leased 77,000 sf at the Sallie Mae corporate campus in Reston after the student loan agency downsized its own staff, freeing up space in the tight office market.

Sallie Mae, the nation's largest source of financing for student loans, recently acquired the USA Education Group and consequently reduced its own staff. That left unused space in its Reston campus that Cable & Wireless, a fiber-optic communications company, wanted to use.

Insignia/ESG represented Sallie Mae, the owner. The Irving Group represented the tenant.
