Concerned Citizens has filed suit to get those approvals revoked on the basis of what it terms "an improper review process" by Hillsborough Twp. Complicating matters is the fact that two of the group's officers are partners in a nearby hardware store that would ostensibly have new competition from the Promenade. One of the partners is also a member of the local planning board, but had recused himself from the approval process because of the possible conflict.
Developer Krame calls the suit "frivolous and without merit. It's a political ploy by people with a vested interest. We've designed the project the way we agreed."
