Through the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health, ananonymous donor has provided $31.8 million for StanfordUniversity's planned Vera Moulton Wall Center for PulmonaryDisease. Square footage and final cost estimates for the building,which will serve adults and children with pulmonary vasculardisease, have not yet been announced.

The David and Lucile Packard Foundation will give a $1.4 milliongrant to the Redwood City School District for development ofday-care centers at Taft, Fair Oaks, John Gills, Selby Lane andRoosevelt elementary schools. About $450,000 in annual state fundswill pay for the centers' operations and staff. Construction on theday-care centers is expected to begin next spring. No setcompletion date has been announced.
