San Diego-based Inabled Online Corp., a provider of "building-centric portals," made the agreement with go2 Systems Inc., the firstlocation-based directory and information services provider designed for the Internet and wireless devices.
The alliance allows Inabled Online users to tap into localized information provided by go2 through Inabled's portal, which users can access from their offices, or the lobby portal, an interactive directory and information system available to tenants and visitors.
Both systems will access go2's more than 700 Web sites that provide location-based information for more than 15 million brick-and-mortar firms across the United States.
"The integration of go2's localized information onto our platforms provides building tenants and visitors with local information in apowerful, compelling and convenient format," says Joe E. Russell, Inabled's president/CEO. "With the flood of material available through the Internet, tenants are demanding information relevant to their needs, and local services are of prime interest to them."
The two companies hope to tap into a growing trend among on-line content providers to offer everything from real estate transaction information to restaurant menus, directions and nearby services. In addition to companies like RealCentric, which provides property listings, firms like Chicago-based OurBuilding.com and Sunnyvale-based eLease Inc. allow office tenants to order capital equipment and office supplies online.
Tenants and visitors using Inabled's portals can easily locate businesses and services closest to their building, such as restaurants, hotels, car rental agencies and dry cleaners. Other content includes driving directions; local events; other directory services, such as phone numbers, available menus and store hours; and real-time information, such as news, weather, sports scores and traffic conditions.
