Home Depot to Open Design Center Store

LENEXA, KS- Home Depot will add a 104,000-sf ExpoDesign Center showroom store here. There are just 20 such centers nationwide, with plans for 200.

Expo Design Centers feature showroom settings where customers may doone-stop shopping for home decor. The stores carry carpet, appliances,lighting, window treatments, tile, stone and other accessories.Consulting services are offered and installation is also an option.

Currently there are 20 Expo Design Centers is nine states, with plans tohave more than 200 locations built in the next five years. Home Depothas 1,041 warehouse-type stores in North and South America, includingsix in Kansas City. The company plans to have more than 2,000 stores by2004.
