Jim Melson's CEO slot will be filled by Steve Winn, RealPage board chairman. Melson has been with RealPage since December 1998 when his company RealPage Communications Inc. had merged with Rent Roll Inc. Melson says his return to management consulting is mortared in RealPage's success with its OneSite product centers and its 20,000 multifamily-community portfolio nationwide. "My long-term interests have always been in the management consulting area, and now that we have successfully launched the initial application ... I am anxious to return to the consulting arena," says Melson.
RealPage provides property management software systems to the multifamily sector. Melson does plan to continue in a long-term advisory capacity. "This is not really a goodbye to RealPage," says Melson. "I see this transition as a change in career roles, allowing me to pursue my consulting opportunities while still remaining tied to the vision ... of RealPage created over the past few years."
