Kimpton to Turn Historic Warehouse Into a Hotel

SAN FRANCISCO-The red brick Haslett warehouse, which originally stored canned fruits and vegetables, was vacated in 1986 due to earthquake safety concerns. The Kimpton Group plans to invest $37 million to convert and reinforce the warehouse.

The red brick Haslett warehouse, which originally stored canned fruits and vegetables, was vacated in 1986 due to earthquake safety concerns. Kimpton plans to invest $37 million to convert the warehouse, including a seismic upgrade of the building. In addition to the hotel, the renovated structure will include a visitor's center and a maritime history museum.
