The companies have a total projected work force of 500. They are divisions of GE Plastics, a Waterford, NY-based manufacturer of silicone and related products with 3,500 employees worldwide. GE Polymerland currently operates from the 54,500-sf Boyce Building in the park. GE Sealants & Adhesives, a new subsidiary of GE Silicones, is consolidating staffs from three locations in Huntersville.
GE Sealants' biggest customers are Wilkesboro-based Lowe's and Atlanta-based Home Depot. The Charlotte operations comprises sales, marketing and human resources. Manufacturing facilities are in Waterford, NY; New Smyma Beach, FL; Euless, TX; Las Vegas; and Toronto.
