Smith Consulting Architects of San Diego designed the$22-million facility in the Westside Business Centre, whichTemecula-based Keeton Construction Co. Inc. is scheduled tocomplete by next July. The project is a development of Kearny RealEstate Co., an affiliate of the Morgan Stanley Real EstateFund.

The Scotts Company, a Columbus, Ohio-based firm, is one of theworld's largest suppliers of consumer gardening products, includingMiracle-Gro plant foods and Ortho. The Temecula plant, which willproduce lawn seed and fertilizer spreaders, is expected to generate500 jobs, making it one of southwest Riverside County's topemployers.

The Temecula office of Coldwell Banker Commercial representedKearny in the transaction. The brokerage helped pull all the otherparties together based on its previous dealings with MorganStanley, accordingto Bruce Keeton, president of the constructioncompany that bears hisname.
