The company is said to be the second biggest independent residential brokerage firm in the state, with only Morris Plains-based Weichert Realtors larger. It's also one of the 10 biggest companies in the Prudential network.
Cost-cutting was the driving factor in the merger, according to Keleher, whose Prudential New Jersey was the largest of the three. (Prudential Pioneer was based in Bridgewater, and Prudential Brown-Fowler was headquartered in New Providence.) Another factor was geographic spread -- the company covers a region from northern Morris County to southern Monmouth County, including some of the fastest-growing regions of New Jersey.
