The two-story building in the San Diego Tech Center was built in 1984. The park, which features a campus-type environment, has multiple fiber-optic providers, including AT&T, MCI/WorldCom, Teligent and Time Warner.

Widcomm, short for Wireless Internet and Data/Voice Communications, designs products for indoor wireless communications. Founded in June1998, the company's goal is to make wireless communications secure, easy and inexpensive for people with PCs, cellular phones, PDAs and laptops to wirelessly access the Internet, according to CB Richard Ellis.

Broadband-based companies have formed a cluster of sorts in the upscale Sorrento Valley submarket within north-central San Diego County. In September, Verizon Wireless signed a three-year extension of its lease for 54,627 sf of office space at 5355 Mira Sorrento Pl.
