Located on a 12-acre site, the concrete tilt-up structure will include 30,000 sf of office space, as well as a manufacturing plant and warehouse facility with state-of-the-art mechanical and electronic systems.
The landscape plan features a park-like environment with a footbridge and a small creek, flanked by large natural stones at the building's entrance. Completion of the $7-million facility is scheduled for March 2001.
The firm's global headquarters is in Japan, but this new complex will be its primary foreign manufacturing facility for environmentally friendly, water-based, acrylic-carton-sealing and label-over-lamination tape. Holger Chen, VP of manufacturing for Sekisui TA says the company expects to secure a significant share of the market within the United States.
"The STA development is a much-anticipated project for the city," says Brea Mayor Bev Perry. "This beautiful facility will add aesthetic value to one of our industrial districts, and it will significantly enhance the prosperity of the area by creating new jobs for the residents."
Snyder Langston is overseeing the pre-construction and construction services, as well as providing design management, logistics planning and site work for the construction of the complex.
Sekisui TA Industries Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sekisui Chemical Company, a member of the Sekisui Group, whose 1999 sales were estimated to be $32 billion.
