On early Saturday morning, the Seattle-based company opened a 1,500-sf location – slightly larger than most of its other locations - north of Esther Short Park in Heritage Place, a upscale $25 million mixed-use condominium complex on Eighth Street. Starbucks also is the first commercial tenant in the development to open for business. A Subway Sandwich Shop and a hair salon also have signed up for space in the two-building development.
While Starbucks hadn't yet located in Vancouver's downtown, it seems to be everywhere else. Seven Vancouver-area locations already exist, and three more are coming. In January, a store is slated to open at the corner of Fourth Plain Boulevard and 162nd Avenue. In March, another is scheduled to open in the Battle Ground Fred Meyer retail complex at 401 N.E. 12th Ave. Later in the spring, there will be a store at the Four Seasons shopping center at 112th Avenue and Burton Road. Worldwide, Starbucks has 3,675 locations.
