California Electric-Testing Firm Doing $5-Mil, 50,000-SF Expansion

CHARLOTTE-Capitalizing on the local labor pool, the local division of Palo Alto, CA-based Electric Power Research Institute plans to break ground in the first quarter on an addition to its 102,000-sf building from where it has operated for the past 20 years.

EPRI plans to spend $5 million for a 50,000-sf addition to its 20-year-old, 120,000-sf headquarters building on 10 acres at 1200 W.T. Harris Boulevard and Research Drive. Construction is scheduled to begin in the first quarter with completion by December 2001. The company has a staff of 120 here.
