Manchester Resorts wants to build a 1,200-room, high-rise hotel at the site of the former Campbell Industries shipyard. Another developer hopes to build Fifth Avenue Landing, a 250-room hotel at Embarcadero Marina Park South.
The San Diego Unified Port District is sponsoring the workshops to offer the public a chance to review preliminary environmental documents, which are part of the South Embarcadero redevelopment project and includes proposed expansions of the Hyatt Regency San Diego and San Diego Seaport Village.
The workshops are scheduled today from 3-5 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Embarcadero Planning Center, 585 Harbor Ln., near the southwest corner of Harbor Drive and Pacific Highway.
