Warner-Nease-Bost Architects Inc., of Kansas City, designed the school. It was chosen by a jury of architects to be one of 259 projects nationwide to be included in the magazine's special issue.
Jurors considered the designing firm's solution to the educational requirements of the buildings. Among the characteristics considered were value, flexibility, community use, techonology, durability, security, landscaping and inspiration.
It is the 18th year for the competition.
