Port commissioners on Jan. 26 will consider the proposals, all of which block public views of the waterfront in some way. For several weeks, the public has been submitting comments on the potential impacts of the projects.

The first phase of a two-part redevelopment plan for the South Embarcadero includes hotels. None of the projects have yet gotten off the ground, although developers continue to tout them.

The second phase requires a rezoning of two major port industrial sites, including the former Campbell Industries shipyard, where Manchester Resorts wants to build a 1,200-room, 40-story high-rise hotel.

The second site is at the entrance to the southern portion of Embarcadero Marina Park near the Convention Center. Developers are proposing a 250-room, 20-story hotel to be called Fifth Avenue Landing.
