The latest count brings 250 more members into the fold. The new members represent about 53,000 units. Buyers Access' purchase of Purchasing Pro LLC, based in New England, accounts for 116 of the new members. They represent 27,300 units owned or managed by 50 property management companies. In conjunction with the acquisition, Buyers Access has added eight suppliers servicing the New England area.
Buyers Access is owned by Denver-based Apartment Investment and Management Co., a large REIT that owns or manages 187,000 apartment units nationwide. Buyers Access provides an online service directly to units in the AIMCO family. Buyers Access, founded in 1986, has concluded more than $3.9 million in online sales. Its membership roster totals 3,900, which controls more than 700,000 apartments.
