Trammell Crow Gets a Quartet from Ben Carter

ATLANTA-When the local office of Trammell Crow Co. decided to build up its retail investment side, it went for the whole enchilada. TCC wooed and won a foursome who had been together for years at Ben Carter Associates.

Lead brokers C. Whitney Knoll and Eric Zimmermann, with junior partner Jamie Hiatt and assistant Samantha Sparks are unpacking at TCC’s digs in Atlanta. Along with Philip Hager, the retail investment team now numbers five. They will cover the Southeast in coordination with other Trammell Crow offices, says Knoll.

Although its purchase of Faison in 1999 gave TCC a substantial retail leasing/management presence, the company wanted to add more senior people on the investment side. Knoll and Zimmermann, who worked together at Ben Carter for seven years, first teamed up in 1991 and since then have sold some 80 retail centers valued at $750 million in the Southeast, Knoll tells GlobeSt.com.
