Houston Ballet Buys 2.2 Acres for 37,000-SF Warehouse

HOUSTON-The Houston Ballet has secured 2.2 acres to build a specially designed warehouse for equipment and set designs. The property, close to the group's performance hall, will be up and running in the summer.

Midway Lockwood Partners, represented by John Duffle, of the Midway Cos. is the seller, and Gary A. Pfeffer, formerly with Cushman & Wakefield of Texas Inc. but now with Fischer & Co., acted on the ballet's behalf.

Harry Gendel Architects designed the 37,000-sf facility. Dienna Nelson Augustine won the job of developing the warehouse in a competition boasting a field of 15 applicants. Completion is anticipated this summer, in time for the ballet's fall season.
