However, the company will not have a chance to get a tax abatement from the city of Troy. The City Council removed one of its three tax abatements offered to businesses in December. The council revoked an abatement that was approved in early 1999, which gave tax reductions to businesses that were spending more than $50 million and producing at least 400 new jobs with their project. Two abatements remain; one for high-technology companies and one for the renovation of extremely old facilities.
