At issue is the paid admission the developer brothers propose. Most residents don't think the admission idea is feasible. The Gilberts have hired consultants to study this aspect of the project.

In a published report, Mecklenburg county commission chairman Parks Helms says he likes the idea but questions the location and the project's funding avenues which have not been disclosed by the developers. The Gilberts prefer the Marshall Park site for its rolling landscape; existing lake; and its proximity to the Convention Center and uptown hotels. The attraction would be open year around.
