One such effort is a recent economic development conference staged by the Borough of Collingswood, located in Camden County just east of the city of Camden. More than 100 regional real estate developers and builders were invited into town, and the focus was on several key parcels of land, with a variety of zoning options, that the borough would like to turn into ratables.
The key tract trotted out by town officials to the captive audience was the former site of the Peter Lumber Co. It totals two acres and sits right in the middle of Collingswood's shopping district. The site is in borough hands after condemnation, and has already be remediated and cleared for immediate development
