Forbes Cross, the owner of Michael Forbes Grill, sold the restaurant and partial use of the name in mid 1999. Forbes Cross allowed the new owners to use only the name Michael's Grill because he had hopes of opening another Michael Forbes Grill in another location.
A few doors away in the Waldo shopping center, another restaurant has recently opened. It is the Taj Mahal, an Indian restaurant. The renovated shopping center is anchored by the new Osco Drug Store, which sits on the southeast corner of 75th Street and Wornall Road.
