"It's less than 50 miles from New York City," points out Joe Troup, Westminster's on-site sales rep. "Add a dusting of snow, and it looks like you've landed in a winter wonderland."
Actually, we're talking about more than a "dusting." The post-New Year storm that hit the region dumped two feet of the white stuff here, but that didn't seem to deter homebuyers. "We've already received 19 contracts and have many more interested buyers," says Marc Schneiderman, Westerminster's director of operations. Westminster, of Florham Park, NJ, is the home development division of the Kushner Cos.
Location may have more than a little to do with the activity. Besides the fact that New Jersey's housing market is growing tighter, and that metro NYC fringe location, the community is located in New Jersey's Sussex Mountains region with proximity to lakes, golf courses and ski areas.
