The company plans to break ground as soon as it's dry enough, which could be as soon as June 1. It will replace one of the company's facilities in Wilsonville, OR, which it has reportedly outgrown. Most of the new plant's estimated 250 workers will come from the Wilsonville plant. The company expects to expand production and eventually employ 350.

Milgard Windows was founded in 1958 as a five-employee glass shop. Milgard now touts itself as the largest window manufacturing company in the Western United States, with nearly 2,500 employees in 14 Western states. Its sister companies include Milgard Tempering and Milgard Vinyl. Its products sell in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Pacific Rim.
