The name change is the result of Howard Milstein's recent sale of the New York residential real estate firm Douglas Elliman. The commercial real estate firm here was renamed from Miglin-Beitler to Douglas Elliman-Beitler when Milstein bought shares of the Lee Miglin estate following the partner's murder in 1998.

"There's no Douglas Elliman aspect any more to the company, so they put in MB," says Steve Solomon, executive vice president of New York public relations firm Rubenstein Associates, Inc. "That was the last vestige of the Douglas Elliman association."

The MB stands for Milstein Brothers. "Howard Milstein and I are dedicated to the continuing growth of MB Beitler, a company that for 18 years has stood for excellence in commercial real estate," said Paul Beitler.

Headquartered in Chicago, MB Beitler has regional offices in New York City and Milwaukee.
