Today (Feb. 16), ground was officially broken for the third and last phase of Hillsborough Point, which offers two- and three-bedroom patio homes. The project is a joint venture of Pennington Properties and Westrum Development Co. Pennington has proposed a preserved wooded park near adjacent Royce Creek as part of the third phase. Also in the works is a pedestrian walkway that will connect the property with a nearby shopping center.
On hand for the groundbreaking today were Pennington Properties' president Peter Blicher, Westrum Development president John Westrum, Hillsborough mayor Joseph Tricario and other officials.
