"Consequently, we are expanding our professional teams so that we can continue to provide experienced and responsive service to our clients," said executive vice president Keith Maddox. "Intensifying our marketing efforts will enable us to communicate more effectively with both current and new clients, while building our human resources department will allow us to attract, develop and retain the best people in the business."

Bonnie Little, the company's news marketing director, said during the past year the number of Tucon employees jumped from 40 to 150, while revenue increased from $45 million in 1999 to $92 million in 2000. So far the company has already been awarded some $137 million of commercial construction for 2001, according to company officials. Tucon specializes in constructing "mission critical" and multi-story office buildings and other facilities throughout the Washington metro area, mainly in Northern Virginia.

Personnel changes announced by Tucon include: Little, director of marketing; Maggie Wells, director of recruiting and benefits administration; Mark Shifflette, project executive; Ray Fierro and Jim Crist, senior project managers; project managers Don Davis, Kevin Postell and Mike Shenk; assistant project managers Joe Pullara, Andrew Smith and Dietra Wilson; Helena Cechurova, educational trainer; Robert Anderson, from senior project manager to estimator; Dave Bowers, from assistant project manager to assistant estimator.
