Klinger confirmed for GlobeSt that Allen is set to close a deal in May with the City of Seattle in which he will purchase five acres of the city's surplus property. The land, flanked by Mercer and Broad Streets, was originally intended for highway improvements to detangle the "Mercer mess," says Klinger.
That municipal project, planned back in the 1960's, never went through, and the property has been sitting since. Klinger says he does not have a figure on the deal at this time. No one at the city was immediately available to provide information as to the city's asking price on the property.
