Sports and Entertainment Complex Proposed for Genesee County

OWOSSO, MI-The Colonel’s International, a truck accessories manufacturer that owns and operates a multi-purpose motor sports facility located near Brainerd, MN, has proposed developing a new sports and entertainment complex here. The complex would be located on about 340 acres northeast of I-75 and Mt. Morris Road in Genesee County.

The Colonel’s anticipates construction will begin within the next few months, and various phases of the complex will be completed within a year or two. The complex would include a coliseum, domed stadium, 117-room hotel, themed restaurant, and a convenience store/gas station. The 11,000-seat, 20,000-sf domed stadium would play host to such activities as Arena football, basketball, hockey, boxing, wrestling and concerts. The 30,000-seat coliseum host major events such as concerts, football, auto and motorcycle racing, and tractor pull.
