The company spokesperson notes any changes to the hotel will be sensitive to the character of the seven-year-old property. A restricted number of new suites and additional garden bungalows are planned. Currently the rooms include beachfront, garden bungalows and suite bungalows.
"It is never easy to raise finance for resort properties," says Derek Gammage, managing director of Insignia Hotel Partners. "The hotel already enjoys an occupancy of more than 80%, which augurs well for its future and helped achieve the deal."
The hotel is specifically located on St. Barthelemy, an 8-square mile island 125 miles northwest of Guadeloupe and 15 miles southeast of St. Martin. The hotel is situated on the Plage Flamandes, one of the island's 20 beaches.
