Keeley is performing extensive chancel renovation and extension of the sacristy area, with organ and pulpit modifications at First Presbyterian Church of Evanston, which is 150 years old.. Keeley also is adding an organ area, a choir section, and a new sound system to the 12,800-sf church. Woodwork also will be restored and lighting upgraded. Completion is expected next month. Project manager John Lekberg will supervise construction. Neil Anderson of Evanston-based Goss Pasma Architects is providing architectural services.
Saint Giles Church is half as old at 75 years. Keeley is converting an existing convent into a 4,000-sf pre-school to meet increased demand in the parish. Sean Monahan is the project manager for Keeley and Steve Christien of Whiteside-Christien Interior Design is the project architect.
"These are both very exciting projects for Keeley Construction and reflect upon our diversity," says company President William B. Keeley III. "As with all of our projects, it is our main priority to balance the goals related to the budget, schedule and aesthetics."
