Some zoning challenges remain for Mill Ridge Farms, as the project will be called. Part of the site is zoned as office/professional, and the rest is residential. Guropa's site plan calls for portions of three of the four building to extend 600 feet into the residential zone.
While the board did vote to approve the site plan, agreeing that Mill Ridge Farms is an appropriate use, some expressed concern about setting a precedent for other nearby sites. That concern involves the potential impact of increased commercial development that could be spawned by further variances.
