The site operates on a Microsoft platform. Microsoft brought RealPoint to "market" within 90 days, a record for a financial website with this much information, says Microsoft's Bill Harnett. "We used our "net" server line--it's really good enabling technology," says Harnett. GMACCM's other partner, Torto Wheaton, will provide comprehensive commercial real estate information. News will also be provided via a link with MSNBC.
Through a strategic alliance with Visible Markets, a web-based marketplace for structured fixed income securities, RealPoint subscribers will have access to a secondary market-trading platform. Access is granted through a password to ensure confidentiality. The site is also fully customizable and offers updates via pop up and email.
