In her new position, Marx will direct Cushman & Wakefield's Property Management, Project Management and Agency Leasing teams in Southern California. A 20-year veteran of commercial real estate, she most recently served as EVP of Chicago-based Transwestern Commercial Services. At Transwestern, she was responsible for overseeing the operation and management of a portfolio with a total of 28 million sf of various types of properties throughout the Western United States.
Marx joined Transwestern in 1999, when the firm merged its West Coast property management operations with The Voit Cos. of Woodland Hills, where she had worked since 1992. In her capacity as "SVP at Voit, Marx was in charge of Voit Management Co. and its 22-million-sf portfolio.
A graduate of California State University, Chico with a BS in Business Administration, Marx is currently a CCIM candidate. She is active in several industry-related organizations, including the Building Owners and Managers Association, where she previously served as president of the Los Angeles chapter.
