BEND, OR-The city granted final approvals this week for a 181,000-sf retail and office development at the intersection of Century Drive and Simpson Avenue. The Century Park development by developer Bob Deitz will cover 18.4 acres and include 14 buildings.

A 57,800-sf Safeway will anchor the project and be the first structure built. Other tenants have yet to sign on for space in the development, which will include office buildings, drive-through restaurants and various smaller retailers.

Site grading and tree removal is slated to begin later this year. The entire project may take upward of three years to complete. Century Park will have to go through the design review process with the city for each building it wants to build.
