McShane worked a 24/7 schedule while rebuilding a column-free, 40-foot-high-ceiling trading floor into a three-story facility for 4,000-member Fitness Formula and Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center with new floors and mezzanines, as well as a junior Olympic-size swimming floor with a reinforced floor.
Union Station not only is Chicago's Amtrak terminal, but also is one of the market's busiest commuter rail stations as well, connecting west, northwest and north suburbs to the West Loop.
"Ensuring public safety and uninterrupted access to the commuter rail service was critical," says McShane vice president Paul Marucci.
Dick Symonds, Stan Kocanda and Kay Raso of Cushman & Wakefield are property managers for the facility. Marucci headed a design and build team that included project manager Mike Wagner, project engineers Tim Geisler and Mark Mechler as well as superintendents Lou Czech and Vic Bishop.
