Learner, formerly the chief operating officer, is now chief executive officer. Mark Bley is now executive vice president and John Robertson, Serg Bogatsky and Barbara Bean are now all vice presidents.
Bean, the vice president of Finance, says D'Arti wanted to be phased out of the company slowly and worked closely with the five principals to purchase the corporation using experience he gained when he originally bought the company. "He helped us tremendously," said Bean who adds that D'Arti will stay on part-time to aid in the transition process.
According to Bean the final financial documents were signed in January of this year. "The entire transition was mapped out over a five year period," says Bean. "We recently completed phase one and are now entering phase two of the process."
Bean also says that the company is growing and moving forward, but not letting go of what has gotten it this far. "Growth strategy is very much a part of the transition process and includes return and repeat business," he says. "In doing so, we believe once you gain the trust of your clients you can continue to grow by nurturing that trust."
Dome Construction expects 2001 revenues to exceed more than $100 million, much of it related to its work in the biotech arena. "Some of the labs we are working on are more than $15 to $20 million projects," Bean said. "We are also involved in tenant improvement projects in downtown Oakland and San Francisco all of which vary in size and scope as well as the building of medical facilities in the cities of Hayward, Fremont, Oakland and Santa Clara."
