TOYO Tire USA Corp.'s five-year renewal at 455 Airline Dr. in Coppell represents the largest deal that has been inked in the recent signings. Senior vice president Tom Clarke tells GlobeSt.com that the site had been built in 1986 for the tire distributor, which services the entire southwestern US. Clarke has represented the tenant while building owner Cabot Industrial Properties LP has used its senior vice president and leasing director, Brad McGill, for the negotiations.
Grubb & Ellis' senior vice president Clyde McKinney has finalized a five-year lease for Yuma Arizona RSA Ltd. for 31,034 sf at Plano Crossing Business Center at 1004 Avenue N. The 216,000-sf four-building business center is part of the Palisades Business Park.
Yuma is a Verizon wireless distribution center being set up in a one-year-old 62,067-sf structure with a high-end finish out. The company had been located in a smaller spot at Forestgate in the city's Northgate area, says McKinney. Mike Fay and Mark Aston, formerly of the Bradford Cos., had represented the park owner, Principal Life Insurance Co.
Grubb & Ellis vice president Brian Cheek and associate Steven Schneider have closed a seven-year lease for Verizon Wireless Messaging for 19,802 sf at 4500 Mercantile Plaza in Ft. Worth. Schneider tells GlobeSt.com that the facility will make Verizon's third call center in North Texas. Verizon is in the process of moving into the three-story, 103,938-sf office building located at the intersection of Texas 820 and Interstate 35W. Building owner Mercantile Partners has used its vice president, Brian Randolph, to negotiate the pact.
Marconi Communications has taken 15,441 sf of office space at 8615 Freeport North in Irving for its Optical Network division, which is relocating from Denver. The division, which will use the site as a headquarters location, will be the lead tenant in the 53,000-sf building, Grubb & Ellis vice president Jeff Peterson tells GlobeSt.com.
Marconi currently leases 180,000 sf in Freeport, 40,000 sf in North Dallas and has a 200,000-sf manufacturing plant in Bedford, says Peterson. He negotiated the latest deal on Marconi's behalf with Matt Calvano of Dominion Realty Advisors, the Irving property's management and leasing agent.
The Dallas Morning News has opened its first distribution center in Lewisville in a 23,844-sf spot at 501 W. Valley Ridge Blvd. The newspaper shares a 40,000-sf building with Mrs. Baird's Bakery. Grubb & Ellis' vice president John Kirby has represented the newspaper while Bill Davidson of First Commercial Realty in Lewisville has acted on behalf of the building owner, Southfork Land LLC.
HTS Inc. has signed a 29,250 sf industrial lease at 1213 W. N. Carrier Parkway in Grand Prairie, a holding of RREEF Management Co. Details are unavailable, but the tenant has been represented by the Grubb & Ellis team of Robert Fulford and Gary Lindsey.
