Also, Exide Corp., the automotive battery manufacturer, took just over 21,100 sf, which will become its new headquarters. Walter Schoenberg of Cushman & Wakefield represented Exide, while Brandbergh again dealt for Boston Properties.
Other notable lease signings at Carnegie Center recently include Velio Communications (represented by Corey Waite of CB Richard Ellis); Siemens Information and Communication (represented by Jon Marks of Cushman & Wakefield); the regional law firm of Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf (represented by Peter Dodds of Keller, Dodds and Woodworth); Level 8 Systems, a software company; and NicOx SA, a biopharmaceutical company that will use the space as its Northeast headquarters. Robert Bull of Julien J. Studley represented NicOx.
Altogether, Carnegie Center contains 16 class A office buildings, plus a Hyatt Regency hotel, post office, bank, fitness center, and heliport. Boston Properties has the rights to develop another two million sf on the site.
